Wat kunnen we leren van radicale sociale bewegingen zoals de Zapatista’s en de Mapuches? Een reflectie vanuit Inheemse perspectieven en waarden op de westerse democratie, economie en natiestaat.

Waarom is het belangrijk om alternatieve zienswijzen te integreren bij een analyse over de inrichting van onze samenlevingen? In deze learning sessie gaat Chautuileo allereerst in op de destructieve werking van neoliberalisme, Europese democratische waarden en natiestaten vanuit het perspectief van de Kume Mogen, de cosmovisie van de Mapuche. Daarnaast zal worden gereflecteerd op de lessen en betekenis van radicale (inheemse) grassroots bewegingen uit Latijns-Amerika voor het dekolonisatie proces hier. Kunnen de inheemse wereldbeelden, principes en waarden beschouwd worden als hedendaagse alternatieven die ons handelingsperspectief en inspiratie bieden voor de verdieping van dekolonisatie processen?

Bio Chautuileo Tranamil:
Chautuileo is Mapuche, geboren in Chile en opgegroeid in Nederland. Chautuileo is middels adoptie gestolen van haar familie om in het westen opgevoed te worden met Christelijke waarden. Gelukkig heeft ze haar familie in wallmapu weer gevonden en is ze actief in het integreren van een inheems perspectief in haar werk. Ze is politicologe met een expertise in Conflictstudies, International Relations en Inheemse rechten. Daarnaast is ze mede-oprichter van Aralez, een pan-decolonial netwerk voor dekolonisatie, reparatie, cosmovisie en healing. Verder is ze verbonden aan MasNewen foundation, gericht op het combineren van inheemse kennis met restoratieve en regeneratieve landbouw. En is ze actief binnen de interlandelijke adoptie lobby voor het stimuleren van dekolonisatie en reparatie processen.

Info Decolonial Learning Sessions
The goal of the decolonial learning sessions is to build a larger and more sustainable activist community and network which can exchange and learn more about decolonial theory and practise. During the online lectures and interactive Q&A sessions, participants will be provided with perspectives on decolonization, activist movements, colonial history, different forms of oppression, spirituality, and how neo-colonialism is manifesting today. The program is meant for those who are interested in being part of, social movements, activism or who want to learn more about the ongoing global struggle for decolonization and dismantling forms of oppression. The goal for the learning sessions is that they are accessible for people with or without academic backgrounds.
